The Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth – Phase 1
We were appointed by Bournemouth Borough Council as project coordinator and contract administrator for the Phase 1 refurbishment of this Grade 2 listed theatre.
The works included the refurbishment of the following areas:
- Entrance foyer
- Reception
- Box office
- Corridors
- Auditorium seating and flooring
- Front entrance externally
We were responsible for the specification of the works together with the preparation of a detailed listed building application to English Heritage.
The refurbishment was planned to complement the existing styling within the building, whilst meeting the demanding requirements of both staff and public. The project was completed within a tight programme of 8 weeks, from closure to reopening.
This high profile project is part of the long-term plan to refurbish the Pavilion, built in 1929. The completed works have renewed public awareness and interest in the theatre.
