The Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth – Phase 2
Following the successful completion of the Phase 1 refurbishment of the theatre.
We were appointed to coordinate the second phase of improvement works to the Grade 2 Listed circle seating area including:
- Restoration and refurbishment of the existing seating
- Renewal of flooring materials and access improvements to the stepped areas
- Renewal of the acoustic materials
- Decorations to the Circle and Promenoirs
The project required careful planning and coordination, to meet the requirements of English Heritage. Part of the project required the existing seats be refurbished and not replaced, to retain the historic character of the theatre. The completed works have provided a remarkable transformation, having achieved their objective of providing the theatre with a ‘new lease of life’ whilst at the same time retaining its unique character.
This challenging project was completed in 6 weeks and concludes the second phase of the theatre refurbishment.
