The London Palladium Theatre
Development works at this famous theatre near Oxford Circus in central London.
Creation of enhanced public reception areas for pre-theatre and other activities in the old box office area. A new focal point helical stair is installed with oculus and roof light above. This links new spaces with the stalls Variety Bar also refurbished in the project. New toilet and box office facilities and a disabled lift are also included.
Works carried out in a dark period between shows to a very tight programme with weekend and night working to complete for the ‘Wizard of Oz’.
Previous projects at the Palladium include the Main Entrance, Cinderella Bar and access staircase refurbishment with new balustrading, gold leaf detailing, air conditioning, and new carpeting. Sequential refurbishment of toilet facilities included while theatre fully open.
All works were programmed to minimise the effect on the normal operations and performances at the theatre and auditions and rehearsals.
