Worthing Academy, Bohunt School

The new academy is being provided as part of a project which will see a change in the age at which children transfer to secondary schools.

The project was completed in 2016 and is located on land next to Northbrook College in Broadwater.

The site has a very simple layout with one main teaching block and the sports facilities. As well as a three-storey state of the art teaching block and large indoor sports hall, pupils also benefit from a large dance studio and multi-use games area.

The curriculum has a strong international flavour and is based around an academic core of English, Maths, Science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths). Bohunt Worthing is also the first secondary school in the UK to teach all of its students Mandarin. The success of the first year is shown by the school having a full intake in only its second year of operation.

The building has provided the Worthing area with 900 secondary school places.
