Sea Life Sanctuary, Hunstanton, Norfolk

In December 2013 the Sealife Sanctuary at Hunstanton, Norfolk was flooded by a storm surge from the North Sea.  Following the emergency evacuation of the livestock and initial emergency repairs BAQUS was appointed as Quantity Surveyors and Cost Advisors for the project to refurbish the centre.

The works comprised stripping out the damaged structures and equipment and reinstating with new.  As well as providing quantity surveying services for the project BAQUS have also played a key role in agreeing a settlement with the client’s insurers for the cost of carrying out the refurbishment both for the construction project but also for the specialist theming and aquatic tank installation.

The centre was re-opened in October 2014 following a 10 month refurbishment.
