For the team at BAQUS, acting as NEC Supervisor for University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust, this is the moment the project becomes real in the most meaningful sense. Surgical capacity that wasn’t there before is now operational. Patients are being seen. That’s what this work is for.

With the theatre and ward now energised and in use, works continue on the connecting corridor, the final piece that will fully integrate the temporary facilities into the hospital’s existing infrastructure. Contractor Vanguard have driven the programme forward with real commitment, and the collaborative approach across the whole team has been key to reaching this point.
