Pavilion Dance Centre, Bournemouth Pavilion
Baqus have been instructed by Bournemouth Borough Council to manage the latest refurbishment project at the Bournemouth Pavilion situated in the centre of Bournemouth.
Bournemouth Pavilion is a Grade 2 Listed building and stands a prominent icon of Bournemouth adjacent the pier approach and lower gardens. Opened in 1929 the building is a neo-classical design and still retains many of the original features.
As part of the Town Centre Master Vision a world class Dance Centre is to be located within the rear part of the Pavilion which will be run in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council and operated by Dance South West.
Baqus have been appointed designers in association with Whitfield Lockwood Architects to create the new centre for dance to meet the requirements of a range of groups, from professional dance companies to disabled dance groups. The centre will include a 200 seat auditorium, professional dance and community studios and backstage facilities.
