Baqus acting as QS and CA were part of a team that delivered a 25 bed ward in short time scales to help with the country’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the nature of the pandemic, the team had to move quickly and designed and delivered the project in only a few months. The ward was handed over in phases and today was the final phase of the patient areas, meaning the hospital now has an increased capacity to treat covid patients. The works involved upgrading mechanical and electrical services (including new UPS and AHU systems) as well as reconfiguration and refurbishment works. On completion of this project, Baqus have been retained by the client to upgrade other facilities around the hospital.
